An American Delegation Visits the New King Abdulaziz International Airport and Reviews Investment Opportunities


On Thursday, December 12, 2019, a high-level delegation of executives from American airports and the American air & security service companies visited the new King Abdulaziz International Airport, as part of the invitation of the Saudi-American Business Council.

Hosted and lead by the Assistant President for Executive Operations of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Eng. Suleiman bin Ahmed Al-Bassam, the Director General of King Abdulaziz Airport, Mr. Essam bin Fouad Nour, and a number of officials in the governmental sectors operating at the airport, the American delegation visits the new King Abdulaziz International Airport and reviewed investment opportunities. The delegation listened to a detailed brief from the Director General of the terminal No. 1 Mr. Youssef Attia that highlighted the huge terminal’s capacity and the services it provides to travelers. The airport is a pioneering development project that contributes to the development of air traffic in the Kingdom, as well as accommodating the growing growth in air traffic volume in the region. Mr. Attia pointed out that the airport was designed to the highest standards that It focuses on providing advanced services to travelers using modern technology.

The visit comes in cooperation with the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), the US Department of Commerce, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, and King Abdulaziz International Airport, with the aim of introducing US representatives to the Saudi market and discussing opportunities for partnerships and exchanging experiences in the aviation industry and related services. Engineer Al-Bassam welcomed the visiting delegation, affirming pride in the relationship between King Abdulaziz International Airport and the Saudi-American Business Council.

He pointed out that the airport management represented by the General Authority of Civil Aviation is looking to consolidate relations with the most prominent international organizations and companies in the aviation industry, in line with the ambitious plan of the Kingdom’s 2030 vision, that aims to advance the air transport industry in accordance with the highest international standards.

Al-Bassam indicated that the airport holds many promising investment opportunities in multiple regions, such as the airport city and the shipping village.
