Free Transportation for Connecting Passengers (Transits)
The administration of King Abdulaziz International
Airport provided a free transportation service for the passengers traveling
(transit) between terminal (1) in the new airport and the southern terminal in
both directions, with the aim of providing more options for travelers and
facilitating their transportation between the airport terminals.
The new service targets
the traveling passengers who need to move between terminal (1) at the new
airport and the southern terminal through equipped cars that are run by a
specialized private company, and the company has also been provided offices in
the public transport area in the ground floor of the new airport where
travelers can show their boarding passes to use the free service with ease.
It is noteworthy that the new King Abdulaziz International Airport was
opened by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al
Saud, early this year (2019), where 44 domestic and international destinations
were operated from Terminal 1 at the airport, and the rest of the destinations
are being transferred from the southern and northern terminals to the new
airport according to the operational plan approved by the General Authority of
Civil Aviation.
