KAIA employees getting to know the latest on Jeddah Innovation Award 2019

​During Makkah Cultural Forum, King Abdulaziz International Airport KAIA Management held an introductory meeting for Jeddah Innovation Award with the theme of ‘share and innovate’. The Ceremony was attended by His Excellency, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Dr Osama Tayeb, General Manager of KAIA Esam Noor and other guests from operational and governmental sectors.

Initially, General Manager of KAIA, gave a speech and expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Meshaal bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Jeddah for the award that played a significant role in motivating the cultural development in the province and in supporting the talents in the different fields.

Noor also clarified that the General Authority of Civil Aviation ‘GACA’ has always strived to support such partnerships that motivate the innovative ideas and develop competitive environments in different aspects, including the social and developmental ones.   

‘Hayakum’ initiative, announced by KAIA General Manger, is one of the initiatives that participated in this event. The initiative aims at serving the pilgrims and KSA visitors who traveled through KAIA during ‘Hajj’ season. He considers this as an opportunity to enhance a volunteer culture among the people to take care of the pilgrims. Thanks to this initiative, more than 31 thousand pilgrims had the benefits of the services offered to them including patients and elderly. Services included guidance, translation, emergency care, food and drinks during last year’s pilgrimage. He referred to the fact that these services are happily given to precious visitors named as ‘guests of Al-Rahman’ hoping for a highly efficient level of success.

Dr. Tayeb has a deep admiration for the previous and future works done by KAIA when referring to the numerous aspects and goals of the award. The award goal centers around turning Jeddah into a pioneer on honoring the talents and innovators by adopting their initiatives and spreading the culture of initiatives among the society. The award also aims to improve the efficiency of the intellectual and the cultural work in different sectors, sophisticate the developmental integration and to invest the cultural pillars and the creative energies.  He added that the award in its third edition has embodied the intellectual abundance of the participating innovators.

the award was able to create a cultural flow and significant accomplishments for the society. Last year, it introduced 320 different initiatives that reflect the social interaction in the province. He referred to the fact that those initiatives are assessed by 5 to 8 specialists and are chosen by an unknown manner to the candidates to guarantee that they are selected without bias.  

During the meeting, the presentation viewed the importance of the award, the immense cultural flow and the different aspects of the award to which other fields were added such as standard Arabic Language of the Quran, in addition to other governmental, security, societal and individual aspects.
